Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the First Aid Pro Glenelg venue and how do I get there?
Our Glenelg training venue is at Haven Marina, 6–10 Adelphi Terrace, Glenelg North SA 5045 — on the Patawalonga marina. The Glenelg tram (route from Adelaide CBD via King William Street) terminates at Moseley Square, a short walk away. Multiple Adelaide Metro bus routes also stop nearby. On-site parking, plus street parking and front-entrance drop-off zones. Step-free entry. Courses run daily 8:30am to 5:00pm.
What's around the Glenelg venue for breaks and lunch?
Jetty Road’s cafés, restaurants, and pubs are a short walk away — Glenelg’s main dining strip. The Glenelg foreshore and Holdfast Bay are right outside for beach-side breaks. Course breaks include 15–20 minutes plus a longer lunch.
Which Glenelg-area employers and industries commonly require first aid certification?
The beachside Adelaide corridor — Glenelg, Glenelg North, Glenelg South, Somerton Park, West Beach — has strong tourism-driven first-aid demand. Hospitality and tourism (Stamford Grand, Oaks Plaza Pier, Watermark Hotel, plus restaurants and bars along Jetty Road and the Esplanade), water sports and surf services (Holdfast Bay surf school, dolphin tours, Marina Pier operators, Surf Life Saving SA clubs), early learning (childcare centres across Glenelg, Glenelg North, Somerton Park, and West Beach all need HLTAID012 for ACECQA staff ratios), education (multiple primary, high, and Catholic schools, plus St Leonards), aged care (heavy concentration given the demographic), and event production (Moseley Square events, Glenelg Sailing Club).
Are there beachside Adelaide / SA compliance considerations?
SA workplaces are governed by SafeWork SA under the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 and Code of Practice — First Aid in the Workplace. Surf, dive, and water-sports operators along Holdfast Bay should ensure first-aiders are trained for marine envenomation, surf-related injuries, and remote-area response. Operators on extended dolphin or fishing tours should consider HLTAID013 (Remote/Isolated Site) in addition to HLTAID011. Childcare staff in Glenelg must hold HLTAID012 to meet ACECQA’s National Quality Standard (Element 2.2.2).
Are there other First Aid Pro venues nearby?
Marion is around 10 minutes east. West Lakes is around 10 minutes north. Adelaide CBD is around 15–20 minutes north-east via the tram. South Plympton is around 10 minutes east. All First Aid Pro South Australia venues run the same nationally accredited courses with identical pricing.
Can First Aid Pro Glenelg deliver on-site training for our team?
Yes — we deliver group on-site training across Glenelg, Glenelg North, Glenelg South, Somerton Park, West Beach, Brighton, Henley Beach, and the broader beachside Adelaide corridor. Our trainers come to your hotel, surf club, childcare centre, school, or restaurant and bring all manikins, AED trainers, and consumables. On-site is well-suited to Jetty Road hospitality groups. Contact us for a quote.
How long is my first aid certificate valid for?
CPR (HLTAID009) is valid for 12 months and should be refreshed annually. First Aid (HLTAID011) and Childcare First Aid (HLTAID012) are valid for 3 years, but the CPR component must be renewed every 12 months.
Same-day certificate — how does that work?
After completing the online theory module before the in-person session, attending the practical day, and passing the assessment, your nationally accredited certificate is processed and emailed the same day.
Do I need a USI to enrol?
Yes. Create one at usi.gov.au in under five minutes using a driver’s licence, Medicare card, or passport.
Which course should I do — HLTAID009, HLTAID011, or HLTAID012?
HLTAID009 (CPR only, $45) is the annual CPR refresh. HLTAID011 ($97) is the standard workplace first aid certificate — what most beachside hospitality and surf-club employers ask for. HLTAID012 ($119) is for childcare, early learning, and education staff. Surf-school and water-sports operators should also consider HLTAID013 (Remote/Isolated Site).
