Language, Literacy, & Numeracy (LLN) Policy
The aim of the Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) Policy is to enable FirstAidPro trainers to recognise LLN skill levels and offer the necessary support to learners with extra requirements during their studies.
The development of the Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) Policy aligns with several legislative and standards frameworks, including the Education Act 2013, Queensland’s Public Sector Ethics Act 1994, the Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service Act, the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (QLD), the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (QLD), and the AQTF Standards.
FirstAidPro is dedicated to upholding a learning environment that caters to the learning requirements and skill advancement of all learners. The college does not show prejudice towards any learner, including those who identify with lower LLN skills. Individual learner’s LLN proficiency is assessed during enrolment, through the completion of a language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) evaluation corresponding to the chosen qualification level.
FirstAidPro may also use other methods for evaluation such as interviews and competency conversations.
FirstAidPro is dedicated to creating a respectful environment for all current and prospective learners. We will ensure that learners understand the recommended level of LLN skills required for our courses and maintain the integrity of LLN assessments.
Our staff will contribute to a fair, impartial, and unbiased workplace, ensuring that trainers and assessors dealing with LLN issues follow the correct procedures. We will inform our learners about the LLN policy, its location on our website, and work to assess potential learners’ LLN skills effectively.
