Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the First Aid Pro Noosa course actually held?
Our Noosa training venue is at the Noosa Conference Centre, 73 Hilton Terrace, Noosaville QLD 4566 — along the Noosa River, about 5–10 minutes from Noosa Heads and Hastings Street. Free on-site parking is available. By bus, the 626 and 631 routes from Hastings Street, Noosa Junction, and Tewantin all stop nearby. The venue is single-level and wheelchair accessible.
What's around the venue for breaks and lunch?
Hilton Terrace runs along the Noosa River, with cafés, takeaway, restaurants, and Noosa Marina within a short walk. Tewantin Noosa Bowls Club is just down the road for a longer lunch option. The Noosa River foreshore and parks are right outside the venue if you want to step out to the water during the longer break. Course breaks include 15–20 minutes plus a longer lunch.
Which Noosa-area employers and industries commonly require first aid certification?
Noosa is one of Queensland’s most certificate-heavy tourism economies. Hospitality and accommodation (Hastings Street hotels, resorts, restaurants, and beach bars across Noosa Heads, Noosaville, and Sunshine Beach all need certified first-aiders for guest safety), water sports and tourism (surf schools, kayak and SUP operators, river cruises, fishing charters, Noosa Everglades tours), early learning (childcare centres across Noosaville, Noosa Heads, Tewantin, and Cooroy all need HLTAID012 for ACECQA staff ratios), healthcare (Noosa Hospital and surrounding allied health), and retail (Noosa Civic, Noosa Junction).
Are there Sunshine Coast tourism / water-sports compliance considerations?
Beyond the standard Workplace Health and Safety Queensland Code of Practice, Noosa’s water-based tourism operators face additional considerations. Surf schools and beach-based activity providers should ensure first-aiders are trained in marine envenomation (bluebottles, jellyfish), hot-weather injuries, and water-rescue first aid. Operators on extended river or ocean trips may benefit from HLTAID013 (Provide First Aid in a Remote or Isolated Site) given longer ambulance response times to remote sections of the Noosa Everglades and Lake Cooroibah.
Are there other First Aid Pro venues on the Sunshine Coast?
Noosa serves the northern Sunshine Coast catchment — Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Tewantin, Sunshine Beach, Cooroy, Pomona. South of Noosa, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Sippy Downs, and Caloundra cover the broader Sunshine Coast. North, Gympie extends the catchment toward the Wide Bay region. All First Aid Pro Queensland venues run the same nationally accredited courses with identical pricing.
Can First Aid Pro Noosa deliver on-site training for our team?
Yes — we deliver group on-site training across Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Tewantin, Sunshine Beach, Cooroy, Pomona, and the broader northern Sunshine Coast region. We can deliver on-site at hotels, resorts, surf schools, marina operators, childcare centres, and schools. Our trainers bring all manikins, AED trainers, and consumables. On-site is well-suited to large hospitality groups looking to certify multiple staff in one session. Contact us for a quote.
How long is my first aid certificate valid for?
CPR (HLTAID009) is valid for 12 months and should be refreshed annually as recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council. First Aid (HLTAID011) and Childcare First Aid (HLTAID012) are valid for 3 years, but the CPR component within them must still be renewed every 12 months. Tourism, hospitality, and water-sports employers may set stricter renewal schedules under their insurance or licensing requirements.
Can international students enrol?
Yes — international students and working holiday visa holders can enrol in our nationally accredited courses, including HLTAID009, HLTAID011, and HLTAID012. Many Noosa hospitality and water-sports operators sponsor staff for first aid training as part of their onboarding. You’ll need a USI (free, set up at usi.gov.au) and photo ID.
Do I need a USI to enrol?
Yes. A Unique Student Identifier is required by federal law for any nationally accredited training. Create one at usi.gov.au in under five minutes using a driver’s licence, Medicare card, or passport.
Which course should I do — HLTAID009, HLTAID011, or HLTAID012?
HLTAID009 (CPR only, $45) is for those who already hold a current first aid certificate and just need their annual CPR refresh. HLTAID011 ($97) is the standard workplace first aid certificate and what most Sunshine Coast employers ask for — it includes the CPR component. HLTAID012 ($119) is required if you work in childcare, early learning, or education. Water-sports and tourism operators may also want to consider HLTAID013 (Remote/Isolated Site).
