Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the First Aid Pro Erina venue and how do I get there?
Our Erina training venue is at The Erina Centre, Meeting Space 3, 620-658 Terrigal Drive, Erina NSW 2250 — right beside Erina Fair. Gosford Train Station (Central Coast & Newcastle Line) is around 10 minutes away by car or bus, with buses running along Terrigal Drive. Free on-site parking is available. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
What's around the venue for breaks and lunch?
Erina Fair is right next door — one of the largest shopping centres in NSW, with a food court, cafés, supermarkets, and takeaway. There are also cafés and restaurants along Terrigal Drive and The Entrance Road. Terrigal Beach is a short drive for an outdoor break. Course breaks include 15–20 minutes plus a longer lunch.
Which Erina-area employers and industries commonly require first aid certification?
The Central Coast — Erina, Gosford, Terrigal, Tuggerah, and Wyong — has strong first-aid demand. Healthcare and aged care (Gosford Hospital, Wyong Hospital, and a large aged care sector across the Coast), disability and NDIS support providers, tourism and hospitality (Terrigal, Avoca, and beachside resorts, cafés, and restaurants), retail (Erina Fair and Tuggerah’s major centres), early learning (childcare centres across Erina, Gosford, and Wyong all need HLTAID012 for ACECQA staff ratios), education (primary, high, and Catholic schools), and construction (ongoing residential growth across the region).
Are there NSW / Central Coast compliance considerations?
NSW workplaces are governed by SafeWork NSW under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Code of Practice — First Aid in the Workplace. Aged care and healthcare providers across the Central Coast often require annual recertification and may set role-specific competency requirements. Childcare staff must hold HLTAID012 to meet ACECQA’s National Quality Standard (Element 2.2.2). NDIS and disability support providers commonly require current first aid and CPR as a condition of employment.
Are there other First Aid Pro venues near the Central Coast?
Erina is our flagship Central Coast venue. North, Tuggerah and Wyong are alternatives around 25–30 minutes away. Further north, Newcastle is around 1 hour 20 minutes via the M1. South, Sydney is around 1 hour 15 minutes via the M1. All First Aid Pro NSW venues run the same nationally accredited courses with identical pricing.
Can First Aid Pro Erina deliver on-site training for our team?
Yes — we deliver group on-site training across Erina, Gosford, Terrigal, Tuggerah, Wyong, Woy Woy, and the broader Central Coast region. Our trainers come to your aged care facility, childcare centre, resort, retail centre, or office and bring all manikins, AED trainers, and consumables. On-site is well-suited to aged care groups, hospitality networks, and multi-site disability providers. Contact us for a quote.
How long is my first aid certificate valid for?
CPR (HLTAID009) is valid for 12 months and should be refreshed annually as recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council. First Aid (HLTAID011) and Childcare First Aid (HLTAID012) are valid for 3 years, but the CPR component within them must still be renewed every 12 months. Aged care and healthcare employers may require annual recertification.
Same-day certificate — how does that work?
After completing the online theory module before the in-person session, attending the practical day, and passing the assessment, your nationally accredited certificate is processed and emailed the same day. You can show it to your employer or compliance officer immediately.
Do I need a USI to enrol?
Yes. A Unique Student Identifier is required by federal law for any nationally accredited training. Create one at usi.gov.au in under five minutes using a driver’s licence, Medicare card, or passport.
Which course should I do — HLTAID009, HLTAID011, or HLTAID012?
HLTAID009 (CPR only, $45) is for those who already hold a current first aid certificate and just need their annual CPR refresh. HLTAID011 ($97) is the standard workplace first aid certificate and what most Central Coast employers — including aged care, hospitality, and retail — ask for. It includes the CPR component. HLTAID012 ($119) is required if you work in childcare, early learning, or education.
