The Short Answer — Yes, First Aid Pro Is a Nationally Accredited RTO (RTO 31124)

First Aid Pro is a nationally accredited Registered Training Organisation. Our RTO code is 31124, and our legal entity is FIRSTAIDPRO AUSTRALIA PTY LTD. We are listed on the National Training Register and regulated by ASQA — the Australian Skills Quality Authority.

You can see our registration record at training.gov.au/Organisation/Details/31124.

Our scope of registration includes the nationally recognised first aid and CPR units that most Australians need:

  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (includes CPR)
  • HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting

When you complete one of our courses, you receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment displaying the unit code and your Unique Student Identifier (USI). This certificate is recognised by employers, industry bodies and government agencies across Australia.

What “Accredited” Actually Means (RTO, ASQA and Nationally Recognised Training)

Understanding what “accredited” means helps you assess any training provider — not just us.

RTO (Registered Training Organisation) is the official term for a provider approved by ASQA to deliver nationally recognised training. To become an RTO, an organisation must meet strict standards covering trainer qualifications, assessment practices, student support, record-keeping and continuous improvement.

ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority) is the national regulator for Australia’s vocational education and training sector. ASQA registers RTOs, audits them, and can suspend or cancel registration if standards aren’t met.

Scope of registration is the list of specific units and qualifications an RTO is approved to deliver. An RTO can only issue a Statement of Attainment for units on its scope. If a unit isn’t on the scope, the certificate isn’t valid.

Nationally Recognised Training means the training meets national standards and the resulting qualification or statement of attainment is recognised across all states and territories. This is different from a “certificate of attendance” or “participation certificate” from a non-accredited provider, which may not satisfy workplace or regulatory requirements.

When you check an RTO on training.gov.au, look for:

  • Registration status: Current / Registered
  • Regulator: ASQA
  • Scope tab: The specific unit codes the RTO can deliver

How to Verify First Aid Pro’s Accreditation Yourself in Under a Minute

Don’t take our word for it — you can verify our registration on the official government register. Here’s how:

  1. Go to training.gov.au — this is the National Training Register maintained by the Australian Government.
  2. Search “31124” in the search bar (or search “FirstAidPro”).
  3. Check the registration status — it should show “Registered” with ASQA as the regulator.
  4. Open the Scope tab to see the exact units we’re approved to deliver.
  5. Find your unit code — for example, search for HLTAID009, HLTAID011 or HLTAID012 to confirm it’s on our scope.

A note on the legacy RTO 40407 code: If you’ve come across “RTO 40407” on an older website or microsite, don’t be confused. That was a previous registration code associated with Sharon McCulloch trading as FirstAidPro. The current, canonical registration is RTO 31124 (FIRSTAIDPRO AUSTRALIA PTY LTD). Always verify using 31124 — that’s our active registration.

This verification takes less than a minute and gives you independent confirmation from the government register.

Industry Recognition and Course Standards

Beyond base RTO registration, our courses meet industry-specific standards and recognition requirements.

Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines: Our course content is aligned with the current ARC Guidelines. Note that the ARC publishes resuscitation guidelines — it does not accredit RTOs. When you see “ARC Guidelines,” it means the training follows the council’s evidence-based recommendations for CPR and first aid procedures.

ACECQA acceptance: If you work in childcare, early childhood education or an education and care setting, your employer likely requires HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting. This unit is accepted by ACECQA (Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority) as meeting the first aid qualification requirements for the sector.

Employer and workplace recognition: Because we issue Nationally Recognised Statements of Attainment with national unit codes, your certificate is recognised by employers across all industries and states. Whether your workplace is in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth or regional Australia, the certificate holds the same validity.

CPD recognition: FirstAidPro states that our courses may support Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements for some health professionals, including recognition by RACGP and alignment with ACN CPD requirements. If CPD recognition is important for your profession, we recommend confirming specific requirements with your professional body directly.

Who Runs First Aid Pro? Founder and Trainer Credentials

We’re not a faceless training provider. First Aid Pro was founded and is led by real health professionals.

Sharon McCulloch is our CEO and Founder. Sharon is a Registered Nurse with over 21 years of experience as an AHPRA-registered Emergency Care Nurse. She has also been a qualified First Aid Trainer for more than 12 years. Her clinical background in hospital emergency departments shapes how we design courses — practical, scenario-based, and grounded in real emergency situations.

Our trainers are qualified professionals with relevant industry experience. We maintain a compliance team to ensure our training materials, assessments and delivery meet ASQA standards and align with current ARC Guidelines.

How to verify a nurse’s registration: If you want to confirm a nurse is registered with AHPRA, you can search the public register at ahpra.gov.au. This is the same register that employers and healthcare facilities use.

First Aid Pro Reviews — What Students Actually Say

When you’re researching first aid pro reviews, you’ll find a range of feedback across different platforms. Here’s an honest summary.

The aggregate picture: We have a 4.8-star rating from approximately 12,261 reviews as verified by Trustindex. This includes reviews from Google, Facebook and other platforms aggregated into a single score.

Common positive feedback: Students frequently mention engaging trainers who make the content relevant and easy to understand. Many appreciate our same-day certificate process, convenient venue locations across Australia, and the practical, hands-on approach to learning.

Acknowledging negative reviews: No training provider has a perfect record, and we won’t pretend otherwise. If you search ProductReview.com.au or other platforms, you’ll find some negative reviews. Common criticisms include class sizes (particularly at high-demand times) and occasional IT issues for students completing online components.

How we respond: We take feedback seriously. We have a money-back satisfaction guarantee for students who aren’t satisfied with their training experience. We also maintain formal complaints and appeals policies in line with ASQA requirements. If you have concerns before, during or after your course, we have processes to address them.

Our recommendation: If you’re uncertain, don’t rely solely on reviews. Verify our RTO registration on training.gov.au — that’s the objective, government-maintained record that confirms we meet national standards.
