General Questions

Is the FirstAidPro first aid course nationally recognised and accredited?

Yes. FirstAidPro is a Nationally Recognised Registered Training Organisation (RTO No. 31124) that provides nationally accredited first aid training that meets the ASQA guidelines for Training and Assessment in Australia. The course content is based on guidelines from the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC), and our courses are equivalent to and usually exceed comparable courses. Upon successful completion, you are awarded a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment certification which shows the course name and national codes for the unit/s completed.

Yes. FirstAidPro as an RTO is required to offer students the opportunity to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) toward units of competence or qualification for courses enrolled in. While the application for RPL may be made anytime, you are encouraged to do so before starting the training program. For more details on Recognition Guidelines and for information on the process of applying for RPL, please read Booking Terms & Conditions.
Whilst there are some restrictions, we believe everyone should have the skills to save a life. At FirstAidPro, it’s a requirement that anyone under 18 years of age provides us with written consent from their parent/guardian prior to participating in any FirstAidPro courses. The minimum age allowed to attend our course is 14 years of age (with parental consent). Please download and complete our Parent/Guardian Consent Form HERE and email the completed form to courses@firstaidpro.com.au prior to class attendance. This is the student/parent’s responsibility. FirstAidPro holds no responsibility if this is not completed and the student is refused entry to the desired class. Adults of any age may enrol as long as they are able to physically meet the course practical task requirement of performing CPR for 2 minutes in a kneeling position on the floor.

The Act places responsibility on the employer and self-employed to ensure that any person, not only employees, is safe from injury and risks to health.

Therefore, the level of risk in your workplace and the type of work will determine the number of designated first aid staff members required to be on duty to provide first aid. Designated first aiders will be required to hold a current statement of attainment or will need to obtain a nationally recognized qualification under the new code of practice.

The Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Act 1986 sets out the essential aspects of First Aid that employers have to address. Employers have a legal duty to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention.

Training Certificates

When do I receive my certificate?

The certificate comes as a PDF which you can download from your student portal, provided:

Should you require a full-colour paper copy of your certificate posted to you, you can contact our office, and for a fee of $30, it will be posted via Australia Post.

Your Unique Student Identifier (USI) will contain all your nationally recognised training records and results from January 1 2015. Think of it like your tax file number or CRN; this is a unique number you are allocated for life.

It is used to track your training and helps you find evidence of all training you completed since January 1 2015. You need to have a USI to enrol in an accredited training course in Australia, including FirstAidPro courses. Ensuring you provide your USI information upon enrolment, either over the phone or online, will also ensure you receive your certificate on time.

Applying for your own USI number is relatively easy to complete and should only take a few minutes via the Australian Government website. Be aware this process is external to FirstAidPro and is a government-mandated requirement for anyone in Australia attending accredited training. This is not something FirstAidPro staff can complete. You can apply for your Unique Student Identifier here. You can download step by step instructions on how to gain your USI number by clicking HERE or accessing video training HERE.
