First Aid Course Eligibility & Enrolment
Age & Enrolment
- Must be at least 14 years old (participants under 18 require a signed enrolment form from a parent/guardian)
- Have a valid USI (Unique Student Identifier) for certification issuance
Physical Requirements:
- Be physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR on an adult manikin for at least 2 minutes kneeling on the floor
- Be physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR on an infant manikin for at least 2 minutes kneeling on the floor
- Demonstrate the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Perform first aid techniques including bandaging and wound management
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Requirements:
- Complete incident reports accurately
- Provide effective, assertive communication in emergency scenarios
- Understand Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines
- Understand spoken instructions & count to 30
- Follow written and verbal first aid procedures
