Age Requirements

To participate in HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid and HLTAID015 – Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy, students must be at least 14 years old. Those under 18 are required to  provide a consent form signed by a parent or guardian before they can join a class.

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on adult and infant manikins placed on the floor.
  • Be able to position a patient into the recovery position.


Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) Requirements

  • Basic English reading and writing skills.
  • Understanding and responding to verbal instructions in English.
  • Basic numeracy skills for timing and ratio calculations.

The certification for HLTAID014 – Provide Advanced First Aid is valid for three years. However, the CPR component included in this course should be refreshed annually to maintain currency. For HLTAID015 – Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy, the certification is valid for one year, and annual advanced first aid refresher training is recommended to stay updated with the latest resuscitation techniques and guidelines.

The HLTAID014 course runs for 5 hours, and the HLTAID015 course lasts 4 hours. Both courses are offered through a blended format combined with face-to-face practical sessions. This approach ensures flexible learning to suit different preferences and schedules!

Participants can receive their nationally recognised certificate on the same day they complete the course, provided the following conditions are met:

  • Submit your full legal name (as shown on ID) and USI number.

  • Complete all enrolment details and course paperwork.

  • Ensure full payment is made before attending, and keep a receipt.

  • Sign in upon arrival at the course.

  • Successfully complete the course (deemed competent).

If any information is missing or cannot be verified, the certificate may be delayed. Same-day certificates are not available for evening, weekend, or courses outside of our South Australian head office processing hours (9 AM to 4 PM CAT). In these cases, certificates will be issued the next business day.
