HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is delivered as a group first aid training course at your workplace. It is recognised in all states and territories and is the minimum certification for Workplace First Aid compliance. This qualification imparts the essential skills and understanding needed to deliver first aid and emergency care, managing casualties, the situation, and coordinating with fellow first aid providers until further medical help is on hand.

With our 5.5hr face-to-face first aid training, all knowledge, practical training and assessment are completed in-class.

Please note: Prior to attending the first aid training, we have a mandatory reading of the first aid learner guide. The hours required to complete both depends on the learner’s knowledge, experience, and skill

Your first aid certificate will include the following accredited units of competency:

  • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

In line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, HLTAID011 should be updated every 3 years and HLTAID009 every 12 months.

HLTAID009 - Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

This is a concise life-saving course focusing on the key tenets of providing CPR (including DRSABCD protocol and safe and effective defibrillation (AED) use) delivered as an onsite group training in line with key recommendations from the following Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines:

  • ANZCOR Guideline 3 – Recognition and First Aid Management of the Unconscious Person
  • ANZCOR Guideline 4 – Airway
  • ANZCOR Guideline 5 – Breathing
  • ANZCOR Guideline 6 – Compressions
  • ANZCOR Guideline 7 – Automated External Defibrillation in Basic Life Support
  • ANZCOR Guideline 8 – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

With our 2 hr face-to-face accredited first aid training, all knowledge, practical training and assessment are completed in-class.

After successfully finishing the course, you’ll be awarded a certificate for HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It’s advised by Safe Work Australia to renew this certification annually.

HLTAID012 - Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting

This is a specific course suitable for on site training for a childcare centres, schools and education establishments. FirstAidPro delivers this course with ALL of the content of HLTAID011 Provide First Aid PLUS common infant and child ailments such as febrile convulsion, fever, vomiting, diarrhoea and dehydration.

Because of its industry-specific approach, HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting, is approved by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).

It may also contribute to approved first aid, asthma, and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations.

With our 6.5-hour face-to-face first aid training, all knowledge, practical training and assessment are completed in-class.

HLTAID013 Provide first aid in a remote or isolated site

This course is best suited to people who may be required to provide support in locations where medical assistance could possibly be delayed or unreachable including bushwalkers, climbers, 4WD enthusiasts, outdoor/adventure instructors, government employees, or anyone who lives or works in a remote/isolated area.

With our 7-hour face-to-face first aid training, all knowledge, practical training and assessment are completed in-class.

Successful participants will be granted a nationally recognised and accredited certificate of completion, issued by First Aid Pro – RTO: 40407 – across the following units of competency:

HLTAID014 - Provide Advanced First Aid

FirstAidPro proudly supplies this Accredited and Nationally Recognised course inline with ARC Australian Resuscitation Council, Safe Work Australia, ASCIA Australian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy guidelines.

Our Provide Advanced First Aid course covers both a basic First Aid and CPR refresher and offers practical, simulated, and real-to-life first responder situations. As well as the specific and in-depth training required for more advanced conditions such as Hyperthermia, hypothermia, choking, allergic reactions and anaphylaxis, poisoning, spinal injuries and much more.

As only a handful of Registered Training Organisations are able to provide this course, our HLTAID014 training is designed to be completed in just one 6 hr face-to-face class,

HLTAID015 - Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy

The HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy is a nationally recognised training and can be delivered as group first aid training onsite by FirstAidPro is the most interactive course of its type on the market.

The training is strongly practical in a hands-on group training course, and all assessments take place during the group training. Once the course is complete, your employees can be holding their certificates in hand within a day.

Training is delivered in a single 5 hour block (generally from 9am till around 3pm in the afternoon, depending on the date of the course).

The training will include the following components:

  • Trainer-led demonstrations on the use of key equipment and skills and techniques used in resuscitation and oxygen therapy.
  • The chance to practise with the equipment, techniques and skills used in resuscitation, assisted and supervised by the trainer and including the opportunity to ask questions.
  • A variety of practical assessments, including role-plays, observations, class debriefs, and written and verbal incident reports.

Successfully completing the Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy course will provide you with official certification in the following training modules:

  • HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • HLTAID015 – Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy

These certificates are recognised Australia-wide and acceptable for any workplace role requiring certification in those training units. 

The HLTAID015 certificate is valid for a full three years from the date of issue, while CPR training is valid for 12 months (as recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC).

HLTWHS005 - Conduct Manual Tasks Safely

This course is specifically intended for nurses, health workers, support workers, NDIS providers, aged care workers working in hospitals and residential care settings.

It is designed in accordance with the relevant state/territory legislation, including the hazardous manual tasks code of practice.

Training and assessment are delivered Face to Face within just 4 hours.

Prior to attending the face-to-face training and assessment, you will be required to complete the pre-course reading and the online quiz based on that content. This must be completed and digitally submitted before you attend the face-to-face session.

All participants will be assessed through a combination of the following assessment methods:

  • Practical Demonstrations: Simulated scenarios/Role playing
  • Project (Risk Assessment)
  • Knowledge Assessment

Participants who successfully complete this course will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for HTLWHS005 Conduct manual tasks safely. FirstAidPro aims to issue statements digitally, via email on the day that the training is successfully completed (subject to certain conditions)

  • Participants must be 14 years of age (Those who are under 18 must present an enrolment form from a parent or guardian to accept responsibility) 
  • Complete a risk assessment to reduce risks from manual tasks
  • Communicate effectively to contribute to a consultation process about improving manual handling safety
  • Use literacy and numeracy skills as require reading, interpret, and apply guidelines and protocols (e.g. read manufactures instruction and safety signs)

Medication Administration Course

HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication course provides your staff with the skills and knowledge they need to provide their patients medication, complete medication documentation and support clients in self-administering their medication.

The medication administration course is delivered through a blend of theory and practice conducted across self-paced online learning followed by 3 hours of in-person practical training.

After successfully finishing the course, you’ll be awarded a certificate for HLTHPS006 – Assist clients with medication.
