CPR (HLTAID009) is valid for 12 months and should be refreshed annually as recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council. First Aid (HLTAID011) and Childcare First Aid (HLTAID012) are valid for 3 years, but the CPR component within them must still be renewed every 12 months. Some employers and industry bodies set stricter renewal schedules.

What's the rescheduling and refund policy?

You can reschedule once within 30 days of the original course date for a $25 admin fee. Cancelling 14+ days before the course is a full refund; cancelling within 2 business days incurs a fee. No-shows are non-refundable. If First Aid Pro cancels the session, you can either reschedule within 3 months or request a full refund — the form is on our refund and cancellation policy page.

Do I need a USI to enrol?

Yes. A Unique Student Identifier is required by federal law for any nationally accredited training. Create one at usi.gov.au in under five minutes using a driver’s licence, Medicare card, or passport. If you’ve previously studied vocational training in Australia you likely already have one — use the “find your USI” tool on the same site.

Which course should I do — HLTAID009, HLTAID011, or HLTAID012

HLTAID009 (CPR only, $45) is for those who already hold a current first aid certificate and just need their annual CPR refresh. HLTAID011 ($97) is the standard workplace first aid certificate and what most Melbourne employers ask for — it includes the CPR component. HLTAID012 ($119) is required if you work in childcare, early learning, or education — it includes asthma and anaphylaxis management. Call us if you’re unsure.
