Medication Administration Course Eligibility & Enrolment
There are no formal academic requirements for the HLTHPS006 medication administration course.
Age & USI Requirements
- Must be at least 14 years old (participants under 18 require a signed enrolment form from a parent/guardian)
- Have a valid USI (Unique Student Identifier) for certification issuance
Physical Requirements:
- Be physically capable of assisting clients with medication administration
- Ability to read medication labels and documentation clearly
- Manual dexterity to handle medication equipment and packaging
- Capability to maintain hygiene standards during medication procedures
- Ability to calculate medication dosages and check expiry dates
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Requirements
Participants must possess basic language, literacy, and numeracy skills necessary to:
- Complete medication documentation accurately
- Read and interpret care plans and medication charts
- Calculate correct medication dosages
- Understand medication terminology, abbreviations, and instructions
- Communicate effectively with clients to obtain consent
