First Aid for Schools

Have you ever been in a situation where a child, teenager or colleague at your school was sick or injured, and required urgent medical attention – or even life-saving CPR? Did you have the skills and knowledge to be able to step in and assist, and possibly even save a life? Or did you find yourself desperately hoping someone else had the needed expertise, and then watching from the side lines as another person stepped in?

Children whilst in your care are your responsibility. As such you need to ensure that you have the skills and knowledge needed to step up and assist in a medical emergency until medical professionals arrive.

Teachers, child care workers and other educators are generally well aware of the need to keep your First Aid and CPR qualifications up to date – children and teenagers are highly prone to accidents and illness, and an increasing number of children are suffering seizures, asthma and severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis while at school.

FirstAidPro is a leading mobile First Aid Training organisation who offer specialised training for teachers and other school workers of all descriptions. If you want to become a pro at First Aid, we can help!

If someone is suffering from an anaphylactic reaction, having someone on hand who understands the correct use of an Epipen can legitimately mean the difference between life and death. And while asthma is a common condition, in the wrong circumstances a severe asthma attack can potentially be fatal without access to and an understanding of asthma reliever medications such as Ventolin.

As well as providing comprehensive first aid training, our nationally recognised and accredited HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting course is specifically build for the needs of teachers, child care workers, and other educators, and covers responding to and administering medication for both asthma and severe allergic reactions like anaphylaxis. For a group or workplace booking, this course can even be provided as a stand-alone module, giving teachers and educators the additional first aid training required for teacher registration (which as over and above a standard first aid course).
