First Aid "FAST"
This course is our most comprehensive and
popular first aid course available. Apply First Aid is the minimum
qualification required by the workplace health and safety legislation

It will provide you with an understanding of how
to apply immediate care of an injured or suddenly sick casualty be that
first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the
incident and other first aiders, until more advanced medical help
arrives.
The unit incorporates the content of units:
Apply First Aid- HLTFA301B
Perform CPR - HLTCPR201A
Provide Basic Emergency Life Support - HLTFA201A
* Also includes Defibrillation (AED) , EpiPen training.
Course Content:
• Management of the unresponsive victim
• Resuscitation
• External bleeding - trauma and shock
• Respiratory emergencies
• Cardiac emergencies
• Fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries
• Head and spinal injuries
• Diabetes
• Epilepsy/convulsions
• Envenomation, poisoning and allergic reactions
• Burns and other thermal conditions
• Monitor the condition of the victim
• Follow relevant procedures for recording first aid
• Detail the victims condition & the techniques applied
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Apply First Aid courses can be attended by
anybody 14 years and older. Participants who attend a course under the
age of 14 will need a guardian to sign a consent form.
There are NO pre-requisites or co-requisites for this competency unit.
DURATION:
Up to 7 hours face to face; with NO Pre- Study Workbook or Online Time (all completed during the course).
ASSESSMENT:
FirstAidPro offers a hands on approach with
progressive assessments throughout the course including multiple choice
course questionnaires. This is competency based training so our aim is
to provide you with a total understanding of basic First Aid.
AWARD:
Upon successful completion of the course a
Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment Certificate will be issued
, which is valid for three years as per the Australian Resuscitation
Policy. The CPR component of this certificate is valid for 12 months.
To ensure your workers are updated with their
skills and knowledge Apply First Aid course is to be attended every
three years. The CPR component of this is required to be updated yearly.
